REDMAGIC 10 Pro gets a makeover with the Lightspeed Edition

The REDMAGIC brand is no stranger to gaming smartphones. The company launched the REDMAGIC 10 Pro back in 2024, and now it’s back with a new edition. This comes in the form of the REDMAGIC 10 Pro Lightspeed Edition which introduces a brand new colorway that might appeal to some of you.

Striking new color

The new Lightspeed Edition introduces a new color option for customers. The previous REDMAGIC 10 Pro phones launched in Shadow, Dusk, and Moonlight colors. Both the Dusk and Moonlight had see-through backs, while the Shadow version had a more solid finish. In that regard, the Lightspeed Edition is more akin to the Shadow version than Dusk and Moonlight.

It has a white backplate which looks very striking and bright. It features the REDMAGIC branding on the back similar to the other colors. The cameras sit flush against the back of the phone, creating a very smooth surface. Honestly, the opaque back of the other models looks pretty cool, but we suppose some users might prefer something simpler.

Other than that, the rest of the phone remains the same as the one announced in 2024. Users can look forward to the same 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It maintains the same ultra-thin bezels and packs the same triple camera setup which consists of a 50MP wide, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera. The built-in shoulder trigger buttons are designed for gaming. Last but not least, it packs a 7,050mAh battery.

A great gaming handset

The REDMAGIC 10 Pro was actually announced back in 2024. The handset was one of the first smartphones in 2024 to take advantage of the new Qualcomm flagship chipset. The company marketed the device as a gaming phone and it comes with some pretty awesome features that we think more smartphone makers should adopt.

This includes the use of the ICE-X Cooling System. The company opted to use liquid metal for cooling purposes, a feature that you might otherwise find in gaming laptops. This cooling system combines materials like graphene and aerospace-grade aluminum with a dual-pump vapor chamber for enhanced heat dissipation. Basically, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro runs very cold, making it perfect for gaming.

The Lightspeed Edition essentially builds on all of this with a brand new colorway. So if you have been thinking about the REDMAGIC 10 Pro, maybe the Lightspeed Edition might be a color option worth checking out. The Lightspeed Edition is available for purchase starting 13 January 2025 and is priced starting at $649.
