CES is going on, so prepare for some amazing tech announcements. Roborock is a company that specializes in robovac technology. While most robovac companies have brought amazing innovations over the years, Roborock’s latest announcement might trump them all. Roborock just announced the Saros Z70, a robovac with a robotic arm that can pick up objects at CES.
The Saros Z70 brings the future into your home
This device looks like something right out of the Jetsons. During CES, companies tend to give us a look at their ambitious concepts. However, that’s not the case with the Roborock Saros Z70. The company plans to put this device on sale later this year.
So, let’s not beat around the bush, this robovac is more “robo” than it is “vac”. There’s a little door at the top of the device that opens up to reveal a robotic arm. Called the OmniGrip 1.0, this can pick objects up and place them in different locations. We’re talking about socks, light toys, and other small debris that would litter the average home.
This is a neat feature, as you can tell the robot to tidy up for you if you don’t have the time. If there are some objects scattered throughout your house, you can tell the Roborock Saros Z70 to place certain objects in designated areas. This can take the pain out of cleaning, as you won’t have to go through and pick up larger objects before cleaning.
Light on power equals heavy on safety
“Light” is the operative word here, as the OmniGrip isn’t designed to lift heavy objects. It can move small articles of clothing and other small objects, but don’t expect it to move your furniture for you. This is also a safety measure, as it won’t hurt your children or pets.
Speaking of safety, all of the robotic arm features are disabled by default. You’ll need to activate them in the app. This means that, if you don’t want to use the arm, you’ll just be able to use it as a regular robovac… then again, there wouldn’t be much point in buying this model. In any case, you’ll choose when to activate these features.
This can come in handy. Say, you live with your spouse, and you love using the arm. However, you have company visiting, and they’re bringing kids. Well, you can disable the arm while the kids are there.
This will be an absolute show-stopper at CES!
