Features like Circle to Search were first seen on Galaxy devices before they were available on any others. However, Samsung is not content to just ride on the coattails of others and wants to establish itself as the “undisputed leader in AI” by 2025.
Samsung wants to establish itself as the leader in AI for mobile devices this year
The Galaxy AI suite has several advanced features that we first saw on Google Pixel devices. The two companies have worked together on many projects, including making the Samsung X headset. So, it’s not surprising that Samsung is leveraging Google technologies in its own products.
The South Korean giant wants to take a leap forward in terms of implementing AI in mobile devices. But it’s possible that it will keep building on Google’s AI and tech. Samsung hasn’t developed its own AI model for phones yet. But there are projects in the works that show how its AI-powered features will change in a big way.
In November, Samsung revealed some details of its approach to AI development. The most interesting one could be the implementation of the knowledge graph tech for faster and more accurate AI-powered outputs. In line with this, Jong-hee Han, Samsung’s CEO and Vice Chairman, and Young-hyun, Head of Samsung Electronics’ DS Division, confirmed the company’s intentions for the year 2025.
Super Gap strategy will be the key
A new Samsung blog post makes it clear that the company wants to establish itself as the leader in AI integration with mobile devices. It will employ a strategy known as “Super Gap” to achieve this. The idea behind this strategy is to use even more advanced technologies in areas where it already has an edge over others. This will result in a growing gap with its direct competitors. The letter also reaffirms the need to find more business avenues and new methods to seize the top.
“To strengthen our competitiveness in technology and quality, which are the foundation of our business, we further strengthened our AI and quality-related organizations last year. Let’s do our utmost to secure future technology leadership and thorough quality assurance. I hope this year will be recorded as a year of [leaps] forward and growth in Samsung Electronics’ history,“ Samsung’s executives say.
