Samsung has officially announced the 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, and it will happen on January 22. Samsung made the announcement during CES 2025. While Samsung doesn’t mention devices by name, it’s pretty obvious what’s going to be announced. Every year Samsung’s early Galaxy Unpacked event is reserved for announcing the new Galaxy S series devices.
This year isn’t going to be any different, and it’s when we should see the official announcements for the Galaxy S25 series. That being said, we can’t confirm this, of course. However, this has always been Samsung’s strategy, and it doesn’t seem likely to change things now.
Samsung does confirm that the Galaxy S series will make an appearance at this event. While there’s no specific device model name attached to the company’s statement, the Galaxy S25 is the logical assumption to make.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 will showcase the evolution of Galaxy AI
Samsung’s Galaxy AI has been a focal point of the company since it launched alongside the Galaxy S24 series in 2024. Following the launch of those devices, Galaxy AI has made its way into several Samsung products. This includes things like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
This year, Samsung says it will reveal what’s coming next with Galaxy AI. It also says it will reveal how the Galaxy S series will “once again set the bar for mobile AI experiences.” This is another hint that Samsung will be revealing the Galaxy S25 at Unpacked later this month. And it seems clear that Galaxy AI is once again going to play a big role in what features the company focuses on with its upcoming devices.
Samsung also put out a small teaser video about the event which you can see below. In the teaser, it briefly shows the outlines of a few phones. It then transitions to a microphone icon, with a user asking when Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is. There’s nothing here to pick up on, but it is still a fun little teaser video.
Samsung will livestream the event across the web
As per usual Samsung will have a livestream of the event going. So you can watch everything be “unpacked” at home. If you’re looking to see what new stuff Samsung has in store for this year, you can watch the stream in three different places. Samsung’s Newsroom site, on the official Samsung website, and on Samsung’s YouTube channels. Everything kicks off at 10AM PT on January 22.
