Samsung reportedly working on two Galaxy Z Fold 7 models

Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 6 earlier this year. However, the company didn’t stop there as it recently unveiled a new foldable model which it calls the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition. Now, a new report from a Dutch website claims that Samsung could do the same next year by launching two models of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

A new rumor hints Samsung is working on two Galaxy Z Fold 7 models

Today, folks over at GalaxyClub reported that Samsung is working on two different models of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The publication speculated the same based on the codenames it received for the devices that are reportedly in the works. The codename of the regular Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are B7 and Q7, respectively.

On the other hand, the company is reportedly also working on a new Fold variant codenamed Q7M. That said, we don’t have any information about the model number of the Q7M at this point. Additionally, a new rumor emerged from Samsung’s homeland South Korea hints that two Flip variants are in the works.

Interestingly, there are further claims about the development of a foldable phone with three panels and two hinges. If one had to take a wild guess, it could be Samsung’s first tri-folding smartphone. But, we can’t guarantee anything at this point.

The development of the rumored extra model is running parallel to the regular model

GalaxyClub further notes that the development of the Q7M is in tandem with the regular Q7. So, it is safe to say that Samsung won’t be launching any new foldable early next year. As you may know, Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold Special Edition with limited availability.

The new foldable is only available in South Korea and China. Therefore, it would be interesting to see if Samsung chooses the same launch strategy for the rumored extra model (codenamed QM7) as it did with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, time will tell.

All that said, this isn’t the first time the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been in the news. Last month, some reports hinted that Samsung could use Exynos 2500 SoC for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Tim will tell if we will ever have two models of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. But, this new rumor has suddenly hyped up the expectations from next year’s foldables a little more.
