After updating its important devices to the October 2024 Android security patch, Samsung has finally revealed the details of the November 2024 security update for its devices. Notably, the update fixes as many as over 50 security-related issues. The newest update fixes around 38 security vulnerabilities in the core Android OS and 13 in Samsung’s One UI custom skin.
Samsung’s latest November 2024 security patch includes fixes for over 50 issues
According to the changelog published on Samsung’s support website, the latest update brings fixes for more than 50 security issues. It fixes 38 vulnerabilities found in the core Android operating system. Notably, there are also 13 fixes for issues found in Samsung devices. Some of these issues are specific to the Samsung Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, 1080, 2100, 1280, 2200, 1330, 1380, 1480, 2400, 9110, W920, and W930, processor-powered devices.
As far as the core Android issues that are fixed in the latest update are all high-risk vulnerabilities. These problems can be exploited by threat actors to gain access to the data on your device. Notably, Samsung’s Modem 5123 and Modem 5300 are also experiencing issues with the latest threats. That said, the Samsung November 2024 security update fixes a lot of issues with the brand’s devices.
Samsung’s latest Security Maintenance Release has started rolling out to eligible devices
It’s worth mentioning that the South Korean tech giant has already started rolling out the November update to its devices. Samsung’s Tab S7 FE is the first product from the brand to get the latest security update. It has also been released to the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S23 series of smartphones in select parts of the world. The new update will be rolling out to other devices in the coming days, possibly by the end of November 2024.
The update was even released even before the brand released the full details of the latest security patch. That said, the update is rolling out gradually, so you may not get it right away. However, you can do a manual check by going to your product’s Settings > About device > Software update > Download and install.
