This year, Samsung is taking much longer than usual to start updating its mobile devices to the latest Android version. Other big brands like OnePlus and Vivo have already rolled out stable Android 15 to their flagship devices. However, Samsung has not yet started the public beta of One UI 7. Meanwhile, a new leak has revealed the alleged One UI 7 rollout timeline.
At an event a few weeks ago, Samsung confirmed that Galaxy device users will have to wait until 2025 to receive the first stable build of Android 15-based One UI 7. The company also confirmed that the first public beta will arrive in December. The leaked roadmap matches what Samsung said, although it pushes One UI 7 stable a little further away than expected.
This could be the rollout timeline of Android 15-based One UI 7
Tipster @FamilyTaes shared on X/Twitter the alleged One UI 7 rollout timeline. According to the leak, only the Galaxy S24 series will receive the first public beta during the first week of December. Meanwhile, the beta for the Galaxy S23 series is “at least 2~3 weeks away,” so it could arrive in the middle of next month. A Galaxy S22 series beta release in 2024 is uncertain, according to the tipster.
The source flatly claims that there will be no beta for the Galaxy S21 series. However, these devices are eligible to receive Android 15. In fact, One UI 7 will be their last major Android update. These devices are from the era where Samsung’s software policy guaranteed four big Android updates. Regardless, it’s still pretty good for smartphones released in early 2021.
OneUI 7 beta for S24 series will start in December (first week)
S23 series is still atleast 2~3 weeks away
S22 series idk if it’ll even get beta this year or not
S21 series definitely won’t get any beta
Beta program will be 2 months long and stable is expected in February 🥱

Lastly, the leak claims that the beta program will last for two months. This means that the stable One UI 7 rollout could begin in February 2025. If this leak and the reports indicating the arrival of the Galaxy S25 series in January are accurate, Samsung’s upcoming mobile flagships could run Android 14 out of the box. Another option is that Samsung starts pre-orders for the lineup in January but starts shipments in February.
Samsung is taking its sweet time
There is no official explanation for Samsung’s delay in developing One UI 7. Some leaks say that the update will bring one of the biggest aesthetic changes in the history of One UI. However, a recent report claimed that several new features will take even longer to arrive. Users could have to wait for the One UI 7.1 update to receive the new AI features that Samsung is working on.
