Late last year, T-Mobile opened up registration for one of its new services: a direct-to-cell satellite service created in partnership with Starlink. This service makes it possible to send and receive text messages, even in areas where there is no cellular coverage. Not everyone will need that, but it can be life-saving for those who do.
The service, now officially known as T-Satellite, was announced with a $15 monthly price tag for T-Mobile users and $20 for AT&T and Verizon users. However, in extremely rare fashion, T-Mobile has just announced that T-Satellite will cost only $10 a month, regardless of the network that you use.
T-Satellite Gets Its Price Cut Down to Just $10 Every Month

We thankfully no longer need to call it “T-Mobile and Starlink’s satellite service” because it has finally been given an official name, and that’s T-Satellite. This service uses specially-equipped Starlink satellites to serve as cellular towers of a sort, so that no matter where you are, as long as there’s a view of the sky, you can send and receive texts. That can help a lot for those who find themselves out of coverage zones often.
Initially, it was announced that the service was going to cost $15 every month, and for users on AT&T or Verizon, it’d attract a higher price tag of $20. The service hasn’t officially launched yet, but is expected to in July, which isn’t too far off at this point.
However, ahead of that, T-Mobile has done something which is genuinely shocking. The service hasn’t launched officially, and despite having a price announced, it has just had a price slash ahead of time. Instead of $15 and $20, it will cost $10 every month, and that’s regardless of which carrier you use. This information comes courtesy of T-Mobile’s CEO Mike Sievert, and for those who will use the feature, it is certainly good news.
There Are Signs This Price Cut Might Only Be Temporary

However, before you get too excited, there’s a sizable possibility that this T-Satellite discount might only be a temporary affair, likely to get more people in through the door. The official webpage says, “Everybody else, including Verizon and AT&T customers, can get it for a limited time for $10/month.”
To bolster that, Mike Sievert did refer to this as the “Gen 1 pricing”. This will supposedly be in place for at least a year, so it is possible that following July 2026, T-Satellite could find itself back up at its original pricing.
You Can Get T-Satellite Bundled Into Some Plans for Free

But hey, I can understand if the pricing of T-Satellite isn’t something you want to be bothered by. The good thing is that certain T-Mobile plans come with the satellite service bundled into the plan at no extra cost.
For instance, if you choose a Go 5G Next plan or T-Mobile’s newly launched Experience Beyond option, you’ll get T-Satellite for free. Experience More users will get it for free until the end of 2025. For many people, these plans might simply be the better choice.
