Every once in a while, some other news pops up about Siri reminding us how bad it is. We often hear from iPhone users about Siri struggling with most basic tasks. While Apple is trying its best to integrate AI to make Siri a worthy matchup against Google’s virtual assistant, the task is proving to be a real headache for the company. Now, Siri reportedly struggles to answer when asked about the month.
In yet another blunder, Siri struggles to answer when asked ‘What month is it?’
After seeing a post on Reddit, Daring Fireball’s John Gruber notes that Siri can’t answer when asked—What month is it? Instead, Siri reportedly responds, “I’m sorry, I don’t understand.”
Apple introduced Siri in 2011. The company then said that the virtual assistant would allow users to naturally talk to their devices. However, even after over a decade, the tech giant hasn’t found a way to make Siri answer our simplest questions.
What’s more embarrassing is that it’s not the only question that Siri can’t answer. Reddit users who have commented on the post linked above also claim that Siri struggles to answer other simple questions about the month. For example, when asked, “What is the current month?” Siri says it’s “Saturday, March 1, 2025.”
When Siri makes blunders, it’s obvious that people will compare it against other AI assistants like Gemini and ChatGPT. When put to the test, Siri’s rivals didn’t struggle to answer similar questions about months.
Users are frustrated over Siri’s shortcomings
Not to mention, users are fuming over Siri’s struggle, and have been questioning the motive of Apple Intelligence when it can’t make Siri work properly. The frustrated user who took to Reddit to post about Siri’s blunder notes, “Apple intelligence this, Apple intelligence that. Siri is still just awful.”
