Six new cars are coming to the World Rally Championship’s official video game, EA Sports WRC, including the all-conquering Volkswagen Polo R WRC and iconic Citroën Xsara Kit Car.
Released as part of the French-themed ‘Le Maestros Content Park’, the update also includes 12 new stages such as Briançonnet in Monte Carlo and Fafe in Portugal, and will be available to play on Tuesday January 28 – the week after the Monte Carlo Rally.
Alongside the Polo and Xsara Kit Car, there are three more Citroëns coming to the game: the DS3 WRC, C3 WRC and C2 R2 Max, as well as a Peugeot 206 S1600. There are also 18 new liveries for new and existing cars, including Sébastien Ogier’s Red Bull-themed livery for the Ford Fiesta WRC.
Matthew Battison, producer at Codemasters, said: “The French domination of the World Rally Championship has embedded itself in history with its unrivalled drama. We’re excited to bring this exciting period of racing to life in-game with the Le Maestros DLC, which celebrates the rallies and the legends behind the wheel.”
The Le Maestros Content Pack costs $9.99 (£8.99), but is free of charge for those who already purchased the full WRC 2024 expansion.
An additional DLC package, The Hard Chargers Content Pack, will be released at a later date featuring new stages in Sweden and Greece.
Both DLC packs, plus the 2024 season expansion, can be downloaded for $29.99 (£24.99).
