Soliddd unveils the SolidddVision smartglasses for CES 2025

CES 2025 is just around the corner, and our favorite companies are showing off their latest and greatest tech early. One of those companies is Solidd. This vision and eye care tech company has developed a pair of smartglasses that can help people with low vision disorders like macular degeneration.

We can honestly say that this is something that we don’t see much with smartglasses technology. Smartglasses are typically marketed as recreational devices for content creators and tech enthusiasts. However, what Soliddd has planned is much more benefitial. This pair of smart glasses was 10 years in the making, and we might see them hit the market in the near future.

Macular degeneration is a condition that affects millions of people around the world. It causes blurry vision and vision loss, and there’s no cure for this condition, unfortunately. The smartglasses that Soliddd is working on won’t act as a cure. However, they have a clever function that will help people live with the condition better.

The SolidddVision smartglasses will use a pair of cameras on both sides to record the world in front of the wearer. Then, they will project separate images right into the wearer’s retina. The thing about these glasses is that they have a lens array that would resemble a fly’s eye; it’s divided into sections. Then, each section will beam a separate section of the image into the retina.

What these glasses will do is beam a section of the image specifically to the parts of the retina that aren’t damaged. This way, the brain will be able to craft a complete image from the footage it receives.

We don’t know when Soliddd plans to release the SolidddVision to the public, but it has gone through intense testing and it actually has several patents on the technology. This includes 15 patents in the U.S. Also, Soliddd has a marketplace introduction planned for 2025. So, we will hopefully see these glasses hit the market sooner rather than later.

Based on the information that the company presented, it looks like these smartglasses could potentially be a huge help to people all around the world.
