The smart glasses aim to be the next big thing in the tech industry. The influence of AI seems to have increased the interest in the segment, with some big names working on their own models. Now, the market has received the Solos AirGo Vision, a pair of smart glasses packed with AI-powered features, with an interchangeable frame design and open-architecture support.
Solos claims the AirGo Vision is “the first and only” ChatGPT-4o-integrated product of its kind. The OpenAI model enables recognition functions and hands-free tasks.
Solos AirGo Vision swappable frames allow you to remove the camera for more privacy
The brand claims that the glasses are designed with privacy and personalization as main priorities. The interchangeable frames combine both elements, allowing you to remove the camera from the wearable. The frame directly integrates the camera, enabling you to decide when it’s more appropriate to use the glasses without it. According to Solos, even if you remove the camera, the product will still retain all other smart functionalities.
In terms of functionality, the AirGo Vision relies on AI to offer a handy set of advanced features. The camera supports recognition of “people, objects, activity, and text,” according to the brand. You can also take photos using voice commands for a hands-free experience. Plus, you can combine the camera and prompts to get answers about your surroundings. For example, you can ask “What am I looking at?” or “What am I doing?” You can also say, “Translate the text on this sign to English” for menus or anything in another language.
Smart features supported without camera
If you use a frame without a camera, you’ll still have access to a handy set of features. You can get directions using prompts like “Give me directions to the Eiffel Tower” or “find nearby restaurants.” You can also check the weather or relevant news, reply to text messages, and more. Plus, the smart glasses’ open-architecture design enables support for third-party AI frameworks like Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini.
Solos has designed its latest smart glasses to ensure comfort throughout the day. The company claims the battery supports “over 2,500 interactions” on a single charge. Solos also enhanced the wearable’s functionality with an Always-On mode. Previously, you had to use the AirGo app on your phone to access Solos’ AI features. However, Always-On mode keeps the app running in the background after a single use, giving you hands-free access whenever you want to “essential features” like SolosChat.
The AirGo Vision uses a proprietary SmartHinge system and USB-C connectors to enable simple frame swapping. The company offers the glasses in two frame styles: Krypton 1 and Krypton 2. Up to seven colorways are available, with more coming soon. The company also offers compatibility with prescription lenses.
Price and availability of the Solos AirGo Vision
Solos offers its AirGo Vision for $299 through its official website and Amazon. The price of an individual frame is $149, and you can also buy a pack of frames that includes a normal one and one with a camera for $349.
