SORTPO seeks public input on Forward 45 transportation plan – newcastlepacer.com

The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) invites community members to a series of public outreach events dedicated to the development of the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).

The meeting will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. December 17 at the Newcastle Multipurpose Building, 705 NW 10th Street. An event organizer said, “These events are a key part of SORTPO’s commitment to involving the community in shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma.”

The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic initiative designed to guide transportation decisions for all travel modes in southwest Oklahoma. The plan addresses key issues such as transportation safety, system conditions, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental impacts, with the goal of creating an integrated and efficient transportation network for Southwest Oklahoma.

“We are eager to engage with the community and gather feedback that will guide our transportation planning efforts,” said Julie Sanders, SORTPO director of Transportation. “These public events are a great opportunity for residents to be a part of the Forward 45 plan development, ask questions, and share their ideas and concerns.”

At these events, participants will learn about the Forward 45 RTP’s goals and objectives, take part in interactive discussions and activities to provide feedback, and engage in Q&A sessions with SORTPO team.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the public to voice opinions and contribute to the strategies that will shape transportation planning for the next two decades,” said the organizer.

“These events not only allow us to hear directly from the public but also serve as a platform for open communication between SORTPO and the communities we serve,” added Mrs. Sanders. “We invite everyone in the community to join us and be part of shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma.”

SORTPO says your voice matters. They ask for help to make Southwest Oklahoma’s transportation system better for all by participating in the on-line survey. Those wishing to participate in the survey can go online to Survey.Forward45. com.
