According to newly-surfaced information, the base Samsung Galaxy S25 will offer more RAM and storage than expected. This information comes from Abhishek Yadav, a tipster. Ice Universe, one of the best-known tipsters out there, seems to believe him.
The base Galaxy S25 model will offer more RAM and storage than its predecessor
So, instead of having 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, like its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 will launch with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage out of the box. That’s great to hear, actually.
As a reminder, the base Galaxy S24 model not only offered 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but it used UFS 3.1 flash storage. All the other models had UFS 4.0 flash storage. Let’s hope that UFS 3.1 is a thing of the past for Samsung’s flagship lineup.
The tipster also mentioned that there will be no variant of the Galaxy S25+ with 8GB of RAM either. That was to be expected, as the Galaxy S24+’s base model came with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
This information actually goes against recently published information from a retailer in Finland. That retailer claimed that the Galaxy S25 will arrive in a 128GB storage model. Well, it’s possible that the information was inaccurate.
Samsung is expected to launch three or four devices on January 22
Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra next month. January 22 is all but confirmed for the launch event, by the way.
There is even a chance that we’ll see four smartphones launched on that day. Samsung’s leaked teaser does show four handsets, not three, which is interesting. The Galaxy S25 Slim is tipped to arrive at a later date, so… this is a bit odd.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is the only phone that comes to mind as a fourth device in the lineup. We’ll have to wait and see what Samsung is planning, but that teaser sure was surprising.
