I needed a streaming unit for my bedroom TV (I have an Apple TV in the living room) and didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. The Fire Stick 4K is on sale right now for $33.
To be frank, I would never have considered it if it didn’t have the Apple TV app – not Apple TV+ but the actual Apple TV app where I can stream all of my iTunes shows and movies. It works exactly the same way on the Fire Stick as it does on my Apple TV.
The only downside is that the home screen is very busy with Amazon ads blasting in your face. There is a small space on the home screen where you can dock your 6 favorite apps like Apple TV, Netflix, etc. I don’t mind the ads mainly because I’m on the home screen for 2 seconds before I launch Netflix, Disney+, etc.
