Swippitt is one of the most interesting gadgets that we’ve spotted at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Swippitt is a toaster-looking gadget that can replenish your phone’s battery in seconds.
That may sound odd, but… it’s kind of true. This is an Instant Power System (IPS) which is “designed to double the lifespan of your phone’s battery and power your day in 2 seconds”.
Swippitt can replenish your phone’s battery in seconds, but there’s a catch
Now, there is a catch here, of course there is, but it’s still cool. Several key components are included here, the Swippitt Hub, which is a smart, intuitive battery system with integrated speed-swapping technology. That is basically the toaster-looking gadget itself.
In addition to that, Swippitt Link is also a part of the package. It is a protective smartphone case with an integrated smart battery and a comprehensive app with access to battery stats, family safety, and location management.
So what does this thing do, exactly? Well, it swaps the battery that is in the case, essentially. All you need to do is insert the phone, with a case on, inside the toaster gadget aka Swippitt Hub. A fully charged battery will be thrown into the case, while the old one will be recharged in the Swippitt Hub.
It’s only available for some iPhones now, but an Android version is coming
In Las Vegas, Swippitt focused on the iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16 models. The company had cases for those devices only. However, this tech won’t remain exclusive for iPhones for long.
The company promised expansion to Android devices later this year. The company said the following: “The Swippitt Hub is designed to adapt to any phone size, with custom Links to fit each device.”
It is also worth noting that each battery unit has a 3,500mAh capacity, at least the ones for iPhones did. We’re not sure if that will change once new models come to light. It would also be great if Swippitt offered more case choices in the future, looks-wise, and perhaps even with different materials.
The whole idea is that you never have to charge your phone’s battery again
With this gadget, you don’t really have to plug your phone into a charger ever again, well, at least as far as iPhones are concerned, and if you’re willing to use the company’s case.
How much does it cost? Well, the Swippitt Hub is priced at $450, and it has five batteries on the inside. The Swippitt Link aka the case is priced at $120, and it comes with a battery included. The company is offering some promos at the moment, though. You can get 30% off the entire purchase in January, and also another $100 as a CES special.
Swippitt expects the entire system to be ready to ship to consumers in June 2025.
