For anyone who wants a modern Android smartphone that comes packing a stylus, there are basically only two major options you can consider. Either Samsung’s S Ultra device or the latest Moto G Stylus smartphone. Considering one is as flagship as it gets and the other is basically a budget phone, it’s not the best set of options.
While you can buy a foldable or some other devices with stylus support, you have to buy the pen separately and it can’t be stored in the device. There’s much need for a midrange option that has an in-built stylus and it seems that could finally come, courtesy of none other than Motorola. Let’s talk about the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus.
The Motorola Edge 60 Stylus Has Been Leaked, Providing a New Option
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, and while I don’t use the stylus as much as I wish I did, there are so many moments when it is extremely useful. I can easily see how some people with specific workflows could use the stylus on a daily basis. Generally, it isn’t a feature that hurts to have, but there are so few options in the market for those who are interested. You either have to go for Motorola’s budget option or Samsung’s flagship.
The good thing is that it seems set to change. Thanks to Evan Blass, we now know of the existence of the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus. Motorola’s stylus-ready devices have been in the budget Moto G lineup for the longest time, but introducing a Stylus option to its midrange (and sometimes flagship) Edge family is definitely going to put a smile on a lot of faces.
From the leaked image above, there’s limited info that we can glean. However, we can tell that the Edge 60 Stylus won’t be a flagship Edge. The tells? It has a headphone jack and pretty sizable (by modern standards) bezels. It’ll use USB-C, have a speaker grille on the bottom edge, and to the far right is the little slot that the stylus hides away in. The addition of this device will widen the options for those who absolutely need styluses.
The Motorola Edge 60 Stylus Could See Availability Beyond the US
One particular downside of the Moto G Stylus smartphones was that they were only available in the US, which was in line with the Moto G line in general. That meant that people outside the US pretty much only had Samsung as an option to get a built-in stylus.
However, things seem set to change. Motorola’s Edge smartphones usually have much wider availability, and that could remain the case with this upcoming device. For one, it is certain that the Edge 60 family will launch in Europe, as some phones in the family have had their prices leaked. The Edge 60 will cost €380 while the Edge 60 Pro will be much higher at €600.
It’s not certain what the price of the Edge 60 Stylus will be, but there’s little reason to believe it’ll be anywhere other than in between the Edge 60 and the Pro model.
