Tesla must cut corners: there are growing arguments in Europe in favour of banning the sale of Cybertruck electric cars

Sales of Tesla Cybertruck electric cars may be banned in the European Union – public organisations insist on it.

Here’s What We Know

The Transport Safety Council and the European Cyclists’ Foundation argue that the Cybertruck’s high-cornered shape poses a threat to road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists.

Activists believe that in a potential collision, because of its design, the Cybertruck poses additional threats to human life when compared to vehicles with rounded shapes.

But the more compelling argument is that the Cybertruck has a weight of 4 – 4.1 tonnes, which is well above EU regulations of 3.5 tonnes for vehicles in this class.

For now, Tesla Cybertruck sales continue in Europe, but the discussion about banning them is active, the arguments for doing so sound serious and could lead to negative decisions for the American manufacturer.

Perhaps Tesla will offer an international variant of the Cybertruck to comply with all European regulations.
