Late last year ASUS officially announced the ROG Phone 9 series but it isn’t until now that the company has pushed forward with the US launch. Today as part of CES, ASUS has confirmed that US sales of its latest gaming smartphone are now live. The ROG Phone 9 series, which includes three devices – the ROG Phone 9, ROG Phone 9 Pro, and ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition – is packed with the latest features that mobile gamers demand.
Some of its offerings are new, while ASUS has kept tried and true staples like the AirTirggers. The devices are available unlocked and can be purchased on Amazon, although it is worth noting that not all variants seem to be live at this time. Notably, the regular ROG Phone Pro which comes with 512GB of storage. You can, however, get the ROG Phone 9 in both Phantom Black and Storm White, and the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition in Phantom Black.
The “Pro Edition” variant is the same as the regular Pro variant, except it comes with 1TB of storage and 24GB of RAM instead of 16GB. All variants are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform.
The ROG Phone 9 US launch prices start at $999.99
If you’re looking for a powerhouse of a gaming phone then ASUS and its ROG Phone series are always a solid option. That being said, they can be a bit pricey compared to other gaming phones. Still, you end up with a quality device that can sometimes border on overpowered. For the ROG Phone 9, prices will start at $999.99 for the base model. This comes with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. It also houses a larger 5,800mAh battery compared to the ROG Phone 8. So you should get a little bit of extra battery life out of it on a single charge.
The only other option at the moment is the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition. This comes with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. But it also comes with the AeroActive Cooler X Pro inside the box. The base version and the regular Pro model don’t come with this attachment. So you have to buy it separately. That being said, doing so is still cheaper than the Pro Edition model. As the regular Pro version only costs $1,199.99, and the AeroActive Cooler X Pro isn’t $300.

For those who plan to go with the base model phone, you can still buy the AeroActive Cooler X Pro by itself. However, at the moment the listing says it’s currently unavailable. There’s a chance that the link may not be live yet or maybe Amazon just doesn’t currently have stock. Either way, you can’t actually buy it just yet. It’s also worth noting that any purchase, for the phone or the cooler, is a pre-order. These haven’t fully launched and won’t be shipping right away.
According to Amazon, phones will be shipped between January 30 and February 3. So you still have a few more weeks to wait before you can enjoy the device.
