Grand Theft Auto: Online has plenty of game modes, which have been one of the reasons players keep coming back to the title. One of the adversary modes in the game is called Sumo Remix. This remixed mode is the successor to the original Sumo game mode from 2016, which involved strapping the players into one of the numerous cars in the GTA Online open world and cramming them into a small arena with a collapsing safe zone with the sole purpose of being the last surviving player.

Best Cars For Racing In GTA Online
GTA Online has a varied selection of racing categories, and below, players can find the best vehicle for every situation.
Sumo Remix drops players into custom-built arenas in the sky with a much larger area to play in. With the refreshed game mode, Rockstar Games also included a fresh list of cars to pick from. The player who starts the game mode can choose to lock the class of car for a fairer competition or leave the car classes unlocked for maximum chaos. With that in mind, some car classes are just better than others.
9 Coupe – Enus Windsor
Big Body But Bigger Problems
- Has a big body for ramming
- Other in-class options are more maneuverable
The Windsor is a big luxurious coupe meant for style, but with its mammoth size and footprint, it is a contender in Sumo. Most other vehicles in the Coupe class boast higher speeds and better handling, along with lower overall weights.
While the Windsor has a solid top speed and acceleration for its class, the handling is unforgiving, and it can take too long to get the Windsor up to speed. But go big or go home! Literally. The Windsor could be considered one of the best battering ram cars in Sumo just because of its size. Who needs speed when the Windsor can smash its way to victory?
8 SUV – Gallivanter Baller LE
Speedy But Outclassed
- Solid package of weight, power, and speed for SUV
- Outclassed by other vehicle classes
The Gallivanter Baller LE has a pretty good all-around package as far as SUVs go in Sumo Remix. It has both the weight and speed to compete with other SUVs, and it even has All-Wheel Drive. However in a game mode like Sumo Remix, it’s key to get to the safe zone with speed and have the mass to stay there.
The Baller LE is an improvement on the pre-existing Baller, which is selectable in Sumo Remix, but the SUV class in Sumo is a hard class to recommend. If players choose to play Sumo Remix with the car classes locked the Baller LE is great. But if players choose to play with the car classes unlocked, the Baller LE becomes a far less appealing option.
7 Muscle – Declasse Yosemite
Power And Speed In A Pickup
- Surprisingly high acceleration and speed
- Slammed suspension could be an issue
Pickup trucks are utilitarian by nature so it makes sense this one can do a lot. Some consider the Yosemite to be a sleeper car, meaning that its unassuming appearance can house a certified monster underneath the hood. As a result of its lower weight in the back with an empty truck bed, it takes off in a hurry compared to other trucks and cars in the game.
The other thing it has going for it is the traction the Yosemite brings to the table in a class not known for its traction. The downside of this enticing option is that, with a massively lowered suspension by default, the Yosemite is susceptible to rolling over frequently on uneven surfaces.
6 Off-Road – Coil Brawler
Built For All Terrain
- Highest in-class speed and handling
- Braking is terrible
The Off-Road class of cars in GTA Online aren’t known for having the greatest performance out of the bunch, but they can get to places that some cars couldn’t even dream of. The Coil Brawler is built for the off-roading experience but handles surprisingly well on regular road surfaces.
It also helps that the Brawler is All-Wheel Drive, or AWD. It’s light and zippy, making it a top-tier pick for outright speed and acceleration in the Off-Road class. However players should use that speed in moderation. The Brawler has an atrocious braking stat, making it frustrating to stop.
5 Special – Cheval Marshall
Monster Sized Fun
- Very fun in Sumo
- Only really works if other players pick the Marshall
It’s a monster truck in a game mode that thrives on crashing into other players. Its massive tires and lifted body go hand in hand with crawling over any competition that gets in the Cheval Marshall’s way. It also features 4-wheel turning for enhanced agility on top of its raised suspension, but that’s not what players would pick the Marshall for.
It’s a fun vehicle to play with when other players also pick the Marshall since the only great thing the Marshall has is the size. The other car classes can out-maneuver the Marshall with ease, making the size advantage of the monster truck turn into a disadvantage.
4 Sedans – Benefactor Schafter V12
Balance Of Power, Speed, And Weight
- Combination of speed and weight
- Can be unwieldy for inexperienced drivers
The Sedan class of cars in GTA Online‘s Sumo game mode are outshined by the more appealing options, like the Sports class or the Super class. But what they lack in appearance and flair they make up for in overall balance across the board. The Schafter V12 embodies that balance well, with a few issues.
It’s heavier than some of the other Sedans, but it can keep pace with some of the Super-class cars of its time. One thing holding the car back is that, with the added weight and power, it can be tricky to keep the Schafter V12 under control at speed.
3 Sports Classics – Ocelot Ardent
Well Balanced And Sleek
- Balanced package all around
- Acceleration is middling in-class
The Sports Classics class of cars in GTA Online represents a step towards better overall packages in-game. Nowhere is that more present than in the Ocelot Ardent. It is a complete package for handling, speed, and weight in a game mode that necessitates such balance in the cars’ attributes. The Ardent also features a mid-engine design that keeps the engine from being too damaged should other players ram into the car.
GTA Online: 8 Best Vehicles To Counter Griefers
Griefers can be a headache in GTA Online and can ruin the experience in the public lobby. These vehicles will help players counter them.
One of the only things holding back the Ardent is that the acceleration is not best-in-class for the Sports Classics class of cars. However, the overall upsides to this car far outweighs the downside of slower acceleration.
2 Sports – Ubermacht Revolter
All-Wheel Drive And A Dream
- Best-in-class acceleration and speed
- Can be a bit fragile
If players want the size, power, and ease of use for the Sumo game mode, the Ubermacht Revolter is a hard car to pass on. It’s a long and wide frame with heft at the front to smash the Revolter into the safe zone no matter what.
Its speed and handling are on par with some of the Super-class cars in-game, with its All-Wheel Drive getting the Revolter up to speed rapidly. It’s the definition of a cannon, but some concerns about fragility say it could be more of the glass kind of cannon.
1 Super – Coil Cyclone
Fast, Smooth, And Wild
- Best in game mode acceleration
- Hard to control at speed
It’s hard to deny the future of electric cars. The Coil Cyclone is based on the real-life Rimac Concept One, an All-Wheel Drive Croatian electric hypercar with mind-boggling speed and acceleration, all with little noise.

The Cyclone has the third-best acceleration in GTA Online as a base vehicle, only beaten by the Ocelot Virtue and the successor Coil Cyclone 2, which is exclusive to GTA Online: Expanded and Enhanced. But since the cars for Sumo Remix are limited, the Cyclone comes out as the top dog for the Super category. With all that power and speed, however, it’s prone to kicking out the back end and spinning out at those ludicrous speeds, despite boasting an All-Wheel Drive drivetrain in-game.
