The Google Pixel 8a mid-range smartphone is now selling for its cheapest price yet over on Amazon.
While Amazon is currently holding its big Spring Deal Days event, arguably our favourite smartphone deal of the moment isn’t officially part of it.
The deal gets you the Pixel 8a for just £334.99, which is the lowest price Amazon has ever sold it for.
You can ignore Amazon’s claim of a 33% discount, though. While the Pixel 8a did indeed launch at £499, that’s no longer the going price.
Google dropped the asking price to £399 in the wake of its recent Pixel 9a announcement.

Why the Pixel 8a remains a great buy
There are a few things to note here in the Pixel 8a’s favour. One is that its successor, the Pixel 9a, isn’t actually available yet.
Indeed, Google has gone a bit quiet on the component issue that caused the Pixel 9a’s mysterious delay. As things stand, the Pixel 8a isn’t just a safer buy if you’re looking for a cheap Pixel phone, it’s the only one.
Then there’s that aforementioned fact that Google is still selling the Pixel 8a as new. This is going to remain the company’s affordable entry point for another year.
Throw in the fact that Google promised seven years of software updates at launch, and buying the Pixel 8a right now is a pretty solid investment, especially at this new low price.

Why we still rate the Pixel 8a
Our Reviews Editor Chris Martin reviewed the Pixel 8a at launch, and he reckons that it’s still the phone he recommends to friends.
It’s certainly the handset that offers the most complete smartphone experience for less than £400.
That includes wireless charging, strong cameras, a compact design, and Google’s brilliant software provision.
