Apple will launch a new iPhone SE series smartphone this year. It will be the fourth variant in the series after the launch of the third-gen model in 2022. Apple will not call it the iPhone SE anymore. Instead, the Cupertino tech giant will go with the iPhone 16 moniker. Some details about the upcoming affordable iPhone model had already leaked earlier. Now, the rumor mill has leaked some more specs of the iPhone 16E.
Leaker has revealed the details about the iPhone 16E’s display and design
According to the tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the iPhone 16E will flaunt a 6.06-inch full HD+ LTPS OLED display. The screen panel will provide a paltry refresh rate of 60Hz. Notably, the smartphone will flaunt the Face ID sensor for security, a departure from the home button fingerprint sensor found on the earlier models. The device will also sport a metal middle frame and a waterproof design. Notability, think of the iPhone 14 with little changes here and there, in terms of design.
The Apple A18 chipset could power the phone
Furthermore, the source claims that the Apple A18 chip could power the iPhone 16E. Notably, it is the same powerful chipset that powers the iPhone 16. Also, the phone could offer support for Apple Intelligence and 8GB of RAM. For imaging, the smartphone will have a single camera at the rear. Some earlier renders of the device suggested the presence of the Action button on the phone.
Notably, the same source indicates that the iPhone 16E or the fourth-gen iPhone SE will be the cheapest iPhone version. Apple will price the new iPhone 16E at $499, suggest the reports. It will be $70 more expensive than the third-gen iPhone SE model from 2022. Unfortunately, no other details about the smartphone are available at the moment. We do know that Apple could launch the handset at some point in April.
