Motorola has been amping up its game in the last few years. They never truly left the smartphone market, but about half a decade ago, they weren’t making waves the way that they are now. I’m always for competition and for the cellphone legends staying in the mix, so I like how it’s been going for them.
Today, Motorola has announced the Edge 60 Fusion, the first Edge device of 2025. The Fusion lineup is comprised of lower-midrange smartphones, and this one fits right into that mould, though it brings enough to set it apart from its kin. A good camera, a sexy design, and Moto AI from the moment you turn it on? Let’s talk about it.
The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion Is a Deceivingly Capable Smartphone
If there’s one thing that Motorola does well, it is super-charging the smartphones in the bottom half of its arsenal. That doesn’t change this year. The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will be starting off both the Edge and 60-series phones for the year, and it doesn’t misuse that opportunity.
The Design
If there’s one thing that needs to be said off the bat, it’s that for a midrange device, the Edge 60 Fusion looks really good. It doesn’t go for completely flat design elements, instead, embracing curves from the back, to the front, and even to the camera bump. I hardly think anyone can say it isn’t pretty.
What makes it even prettier are the Pantone colors that it comes in. You can choose between the pinkish Pantone Zephyr, the bluish-gray Pantone Slipstream, or the teal-hued Pantone Amazonite.
And despite how attractive it might be, it is built to be tough. You get MIL-STD-810H certification for bumps, knocks, and harsh temperatures. At the same time, it meets the standards for IP68 and IP69, so it isn’t afraid of a little (or a lot) of water. We’re off to a good start.
The Screen

The Edge 60 Fusion uses a “quad-curve edge display” that is Pantone Validated. It measures at 6.67 inches, using pOLED technology, 1220p resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate to stand above the crowd. There’s HDR10+ certification as well, so you’ll enjoy HDR content as intended. Plus, with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, even the most fragile part of the phone is tough.
The Hardware
Motorola partners with MediaTek this year, switching away from Qualcomm, and the chip of choice is the midrange MediaTek Dimensity 7300. That chip will work in tandem with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

And Motorola wants you to know that it hasn’t abandoned the sound experience here, as most midrange OEMs are prone to. You get support for Dolby Atmos and stereo speakers that are Hi-Res certified.
The Battery and Charging
One place most midrange devices don’t disappoint is in the battery domain. True to form, you get a 5,200mAh battery tucked inside the phone. Where midrange devices do falter is the charging department, but this one doesn’t, with 68W wired fast charging for a full charge in 43 minutes.
The Cameras

Motorola does what it can when it comes to the camera, too. The primary unit is a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C with OIS, and with the new sensor, it is better in low light than last year’s model. You also get a 13MP ultrawide camera that doubles as a macro lens for those real close up shots of the bugs in your backyard. On the front, you’ll encounter a 32MP selfie camera. Nothing too crazy.
The Software
The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion runs on Android 15, which doesn’t make it overly special, but it is the first Motorola device with Moto AI out of the box, so that does make it a little bit better than the rest. With Moto AI in mind from the start, you’ll find it even more intuitive than ever.

You’ll get access to Pay Attention, which helps with audio transcription and summarization; Remember This, which captures important on-screen data, and Magic Canvas, which is your built-in AI image generator.
You also get features like Water Touch, which keeps your taps, touches, and presses accurate even after your phone has been submerged.
The Pricing

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion won’t be coming to North America, but it’ll be available in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania.
In the UK, it’ll set you back £299.99. It is available on Motorola’s website starting today and will be available on Amazon in the middle of the month.
