The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is about to drop next week in Vietnam. It’s a more affordable version of the Galaxy S24 series but it still makes for a powerful phone. In the USA, it’ll start at $649 for the 128GB model and $709 for the 256GB version, which is about $50 more than last year’s S23 FE. So, it’s still priced pretty well for what you’re getting.
The phone’s launch presents a rare chance to snag flagship-level features without having to drop flagship-level cash. You’re basically getting the same core experience as the pricier Galaxy S24 models. So if you want the latest tech, don’t miss its launch.
Get ready for flagship performance on a budget
The Samsung S24 FE will come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, it uses Samsung’s own Exynos 2400e chipset. Typically, the Exynos 2400 processor has deca-cores with a tri-cluster architecture.
That is, 10 cores split into three groups. One core group handles the heavy tasks, then you have a few mid-range cores for regular tasks, and several doing the lighter work. It’s possible that the ‘e’ suffix is a budget-friendly version of the regular Exynos 2400.
We’re hoping to see the same Xclipse 940 GPU as introduced on the S24 phone. But Samsung may go with a lower version to balance the performance and price. Afterall, the Galaxy S23 FE used the Adreno 730 GPU while the Galaxy S23 used the better Adreno 740. Adding to the phone’s performance are two memory options. You can either get the model with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The cameras on the rear side are three, and mimic its predecessor.
There’s a 50MP main, OIS, 12MP Ultra wide, 8MP the front is a 10MP selfie camera. The display itself supports 4K resolution at 120Hz and FHD+ at 144Hz. The peak brightness is 1900, which is 700 nits below the original Galaxy S24. The screen will be usable for most conditions, but the S24 at 2600 nits is the better performer in direct sunlight.

Expect long-lasting features on the Galaxy S24 FE
Powering the Galaxy S24 FE is a sufficient 4,565mAh battery providing up to 78 hours of music playback. You can recharge it with 25W wired fast charging, wireless charging, and wireless power sharing with compatible earbuds and other devices. The phone is also water-resistance with an IP68 rating. Your phone should survive up to one meter submersion for about 30 minutes.
The Samsung S24 FE has space for dual SIM cards and will run Android 14 with OneUI 6.1.1 out of the box. Since Samsung is offering seven years of OS updates, you’re good until 2031. There’s no official word on the phone’s release date.
