This solar-powered hat can charge your phone in just a few hours

With CES 2025 in full swing, we’re discovering all sorts of cool, unique, and innovative new tech products, like this EcoFlow Power Hat with integrated solar panels. Solar-powered tech products are nothing new by any stretch of the imagination, as you will commonly see solar power in things like smartwatches.

What you don’t see very often is clothing that has solar power integrated into it. That’s what makes the EcoFlow Power Hat so intriguing. This new solar-powered hat aims to be the outdoor enthusiast’s best friend, providing not only protection from the elements but also a nifty bit of juice for your smart devices.

Just imagine you’re out hiking on a warm Summer day and unfortunately, you’ve forgotten to pack your power bank. You know, the device you would usually bring with you to charge up your phone and earbuds. With the EcoFlow Power Hat, you would have a backup solution. One that apparently works pretty well. EcoFlow claims it can charge your smartphone up in just a few hours while hiking, camping, and the like. Which is pretty impressive if it’s able to live up to that claim.

The brim on the EcoFlow Power Hat is nearly one big solar panel

It’s not entirely one big panel, but rather a bunch of smaller panels that are attached to the brim all the way around. Giving you, the wearer, 360-degree coverage and ensuring that the hat is sucking up all those sun rays to feed into your tech. What’s more, is that the EcoFlow Power Hat is IP65 waterproof-rated and designed to be durable. So if gets a little wet from an afternoon drizzle, it’ll be fine.

The hat is also made with a foldable design so you can pack it up. As useful as this hat might be while you’re out and about, you may not want to wear it the entire day. With the foldable design, you can store it in your backpack without worrying you’re going to damage it.

It also has mesh on half of the top part that rests against your head to help with heat dissipation. EcoFlow also designed it with a maximum thermal-to-electricity conversion of 24% so you stay cooler while wearing it.

You have two charging ports so you can charge two devices at once

Solar-powered charging devices are great, but they’re better when they allow you to charge more than one device at a time. These days, most of us probably carry around more than just one device that needs charging. Whether that’s a smartphone and a smartwatch, a smartphone and wireless earbuds, or all three. The point is you could make use of something that can charge more than just your phone.

The EcoFlow Power Hat has two charging ports so you can plug in two devices at the same time. Helping you cut down on the time you need to use its charging capabilities. In terms of power output, it’s rated for 5V 2.4A Max. It’s also UPF50+ rated for sun and UV protection. EcoFlow has launched the Power Hat today and it’ll run you $129.
