NAGOYA, Japan — Toyota Motor has postponed the construction a battery plant in southwestern Japan, as the world’s top automaker reassesses its strategy in the face of slowing global demand for electric vehicles.
Toyota President Koji Sato on Tuesday traveled to Fukuoka prefecture, the site of the planned plant and met with Fukuoka Gov. Seitaro Hattori.
