The Transformers brand has been big since the 1980s, with the franchise being “more than meets the eye” for exactly 40 years now. Another major franchise from the same period was Ghostbusters, with the two 1980s icons now crossing over in a vehicular way.

Released by Jada Toys, a new set of collectible cars mixes and matches the aesthetic of the Ghostbusters’ legendary ride and the alternate mode of Optimus Prime. These are actually the second such toys made by the company, with the new die-cast cars being smaller than the original release. With the 40th anniversary of Hasbro’s Transformers now winding down, rollin’ out will make fans feel good like never before to cap off the year.

Jada Toys Releases Newest Transformers x Ghostbusters Crossover Collectibles

Recently shown off on the official Jada Toys Facebook page, the company’s newest Transformers x Ghostbusters Hollywood Rides cars give fans the best of both worlds. In this case, the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1 hearse is cast in the red and blue color scheme of Autobot leader Optimus Prime, complete with an Autobot symbol. Conversely, Optimus Prime’s tractor-trailer cab vehicle mode is the other car, with the Cybertronian switching out his usual array of colors for the white of the Ecto-1. Not only is his Autobot symbol replaced with a Ghostbusters logo, but his front fender also has a decent bit of slime, suggesting an encounter with a certain mean green ghost.

This duo is a new release for a similar idea, with Jada Toys previously releasing the same vehicles but in the 1:24 size. These are smaller 1:32 cars, allowing fans to scale them with their other Transformers or Ghostbusters collectibles, with Jada Toys producing several of the latter. Fans should look out for these new collectibles at their local retailers in the coming weeks, with the cars becoming available by the end of the year. Given the release of 2024 movies such as Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and the animated film Transformers One, not to mention several other figures and toys, it’s been a big year for both brands.
