Transportation Department Fines Air Canada for Violating FAA Airspace Restrictions – The Presidential Prayer Team

The airline operated flights over restricted areas carrying United Airlines’ code.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has fined Air Canada $250,000 for operating flights in regions restricted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for U.S. carriers. The airline carried United Airlines’ designator code on flights between the United Arab Emirates and Canada from October 2022 to January 2023, violating FAA restrictions.

The investigation by the Office of Aviation Consumer Protection (OACP) found that these actions contravened Air Canada’s operating authority, leading to the fine and an order to cease such violations.

The airline highlighted that safety was not compromised and took immediate corrective action after being alerted by the Transportation Department. This included reminding crews of the necessary flight procedures and launching an internal investigation to prevent future violations.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Transportation Secretary Buttigieg and U.S. officials as they seek to ensure compliance with U.S. airspace regulations.
  • For Administrator Michael Whitaker to seek God’s guidance as he heads the FAA.
