Trusted source says Galaxy S25 series will launch on January 22

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is just a couple of months away, or so the leaks claim. In the last few years, Samsung has maintained a consistent line when it comes to choosing the month of launch of its Galaxy flagships. Typically, each new generation arrives during January or February. A new leak suggests that Samsung will keep up the tradition with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025

Max Jambor, a reputable tipster, posted on X/Twitter a cryptic message that only says “22.1.” While the post doesn’t include a mention of any particular device, it all points to it being the Galaxy S25 series launch date. The leaks from the source, in addition to being reliable (especially when they include such specific data), usually focus on upcoming Samsung devices. If the leak is true, Samsung will also launch the Android 15-based One UI 7 update during the Unpacked event on January 22, 2025.

Max has also been sharing information related to the Galaxy S25 Slim, stating that it won’t arrive alongside the other models in January but later on. Just like what happened with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, fans of the lineup will have to wait a few extra weeks (or months). However, let’s hope it doesn’t have limited regional availability, unlike their slimmer foldable. Samsung won’t be dropping any current model in the Galaxy S25 series to include the Slim one, like Apple will do with the iPhone 17 Air, according to reports. The device will be an extra option alongside the vanilla, Plus, and Ultra variants.

Snapdragon chips for all variants globally, another leak claims

Recently, another reliable tipster reaffirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset worldwide. The issues related to low yield on Samsung Foundry’s 3 nm wafers were insurmountable for the company. While fans may consider as great news the presence of Qualcomm’s latest flagship hardware, one should also be prepared for a potential price hike. There are no leaks yet regarding the pricing of the devices in the Galaxy S25 series. However, they will likely emerge as the hinted date approaches.
