TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department says a woman was killed after her vehicle hits a streetlight.
The crash happened Friday night, March 7, about 9:30 at 4882 East 29th Street.
The TPD says Tucson Fire personnel arrived and evaluated the occupants of a white 2001 Infiniti sedan.
23-year-old Keaira Nasha Bell was the driver and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 26-year-old male passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say it appears Bell was traveling east on 29th Street at high speeds, swerving around traffic.
At one point, she lost control of the vehicle, hit the curb, and then a streetlight.
The TPD says both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
It was raining in the area at the time of the collision, which may have contributed to the collision.
Excessive speed is believed to be the major contributing factor of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
