Twenty unlocked cars broken into, 3 guns stolen in Indian Trail: Sheriff’s Office – Yahoo! Voices


INDIAN TRIAL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Valuables were stolen from twenty unlocked cars on Tuesday, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they saw the break-ins within Indian Trail and in particular in the Brandon Oaks subdivision. Each vehicle targeted was unlocked.

Authorities request assistance locating 67-year-old Monroe woman

In total, three guns were taken in the break-ins. Those in the area with security video or photos of the incidents are asked to send the files to the Sheriff’s Office through this website.

Anyone with information can call Union County Crime Stoppers at 704-283-35600 or submit a tip through the UCSO’s app.

The Sheriff’s Office provided the following reminder:

  • LOCK your vehicles – even in your driveway!

  • REMOVE valuables from your car, especially firearms.

  • UTILIZE outdoor lighting and camera systems to deter and/or identify suspects

  • REPORT suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
