ALBANY — On Tuesday morning, Albany Ward 6 City Commissioner Tommie Postell put the coffee on, he said, and stepped outside his Albert Court home for his Albany Herald. At that point, he discovered his blue 2000 Cadillac Sedan deVille was missing.
“What happened to my car?” was Postell’s reaction, he said.
On further investigation, Postell said he noticed his 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 was gone as well.
Postell immediately reported both the thefts to the Albany Police Department. Later Tuesday, the Mercedes “came back,” Postell said, if not directly to his driveway or in original condition. According to Postell, the Mercedes was discovered on a dead end street near his residence with a flat tire and damaged rim. The victim is unsure just how the thieves could access and drive the modern vehicles without his permission.
“They were both locked,” Postell said. “I don’t know how they did it.”
Postell said the APD had made no arrests in connection with the thefts.
