TxDOT: Officials encouraging public comment on transportation plans – KFDA


AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Texas Department of Transportation officials are encouraging the public to engage in public comment about the future of two transportation plans on Friday.

TxDOT is developing a comprehensive Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan (SMTP) and Statewide Active Transportation Plan (SATP) and visiting community events around the state during the month of October.

On Friday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the community is invited out to the Amarillo City Transit Multimodal Transfer Station to discuss both plans.

The SMTP includes transit such as buses, trains, and on-demand rideshare.

The SATP includes human-powered modes like cycling, walking, using mobility aids and smaller electric options such as e-scooters.

Public comments on these developing plans may be submitted the following ways:
