Vivo X200 Pro flagship is coming in a 'Mini' version too

The Vivo X200 series will become official on October 14 in China. Two smartphones are expected to become official during the event, the Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro, but also a third phone that we didn’t know about until now. The Vivo X200 Pro mini seems to be coming too, as a small flagship.

The Vivo X200 Pro mini is real, and it will be a small flagship by the company

This was kind of confirmed by Jia Jingdong, a Vivo brand manager. He shared a post via Weibo, welcoming a new brand ambassador for the company, Zheng Qingwen. She is a tennis player and the winner of the Olympic gold in Paris 2024.

Weibo does share models of devices that posts have been shared via, and in this case it’s the ‘Vivo X200 Pro mini’. That basically confirms the phone’s existence, and it’s safe to assume it will become official on October 14.

We do not really have any additional information about the device, though. Based on its name, however, we expect it to be more powerful than the Vivo X200. It could be the same as the Vivo X200 Pro, but smaller, or slightly inferior to that device.

That phone is expected to include Sony’s brand new LYTIA sensor

One source allegedly said that the Sony LYT-818 camera sensor will be used in both the Vivo X200 Pro and Vivo X200 Pro mini. That is the camera sensor that Sony announced quite recently, a successor to the LYT-808 that is included in the OnePlus 12.

That is a 1/1.28-inch sensor, for those of you who are wondering, and it will have a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower power consumption. Three cameras are expected on those two smartphones, however.

In regards to the processor, well, we’re still not sure. Both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 are a possibility. Both of those chips are coming soon, and the Vivo X200 phones will be amongst the first to use them.

If we had to guess, we’d say that the Vivo X200 will be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. The Vivo X200 Pro, on the other hand, will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. We’re not sure about the Vivo X200 Pro mini, however.
