Vivo X200 Ultra camera sensors revealed by trusted tipster


The Vivo X200 Ultra camera sensors have just been revealed by a trusted tipster. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, a source who is rarely wrong about the information he shares.

The Vivo X200 Ultra camera sensors have been revealed already

He went to Weibo to reveal that the Vivo X200 Ultra will utilize Sony’s new LYT-818 sensor for two of its cameras. It will be used for the phone’s main camera (35mm), and its ultrawide camera.

On top of that, the tipster suggested that a customized Samsung HP9 sensor, which will be renamed to HPX, will be used for the periscope telephoto camera. That will be a 200-megapixel camera, by the way.

The Vivo X200 Pro, for example, utilizes the Sony LYT-818 sensor for its main camera, but not for the ultrawide camera. If the Vivo X200 Ultra ends up using it for the ultrawide shooter as well, that will be a huge boost.

The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera inside the Vivo X200 Pro has a 1/2.76-inch camera sensor. The Sony LYT-818 is a 1/1.28-inch camera sensor. Needless to say, this is a huge difference.

Vivo could end up making further changes, including ones to the main camera

We don’t know if Vivo will change something in regards to the main camera. The same sensor will be used, but the company could end up using a different lens. Or, perhaps a variable aperture? We’ll have to wait and see. Even if nothing changes, that main camera sensor has proven to be quite capable on the Vivo X200 Pro already.

The Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to arrive at some point next year. The Vivo X100 Ultra launched in May this year. So, the Vivo X200 Ultra could arrive in mid-2025, but that’s just a wild guess. Who knows what Vivo is planning?

That device will obviously have an extremely powerful camera setup, though, and it will likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. As a reminder, the Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC.
