Wall Mural Planned For New Stamford Transportation Center Garage – Patch

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Arts & Culture Commission (SACC) has received a National Endowment of the Arts grant to create a wall mural as part of the newly-built Stamford Transportation Center parking garage on North State Street, according to the city of Stamford.

The SACC is now seeking an artist or team of artists to design and paint a mural that reflects Stamford’s landmarks, culture, abstract art and/or rail transportation. Examples include showcasing Stamford’s parks, waterfronts, beaches, the downtown area, nature centers and public transportation.

As a result, a community input session has been scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at The Palace Theatre. Artists and residents are invited to give input on the final design for the mural.

“Once completed, this mural will serve as a vibrant and interactive community-serving corridor that both pedestrians and drivers will appreciate,” the city said in a Facebook post.
