The luxury motor was left in tatters following the smash just outside the posh Cheshire village of Alderley Eddge on Saturday (January 4).

In video footage of the incident, the BMW M3 Competition can be seen speeding round a sharp corner on a main road before its back end veers onto the wrong side of the road.

It then swerves the other way and crosses into the right-hand lane, before the front end of the car crashes into the barrier – sending shrapnel flying.

The motor then spins round and comes to a halt across the two lanes, with a large piece of metalwork hanging off.

But, after the clip was posted on YouTube, users were far from sympathetic towards the driver – claiming they didn’t know how to handle the premium motor properly.

One asked: “Why are we braking hard while drifting?”

Meanwhile, another quipped: “Loses the back end. Hits the breaks. Should have bought a golf.”

And a third wrote: “What a muppet. Clearly doesn’t know how to handle a car.

“[They] slid a little and instantly backed off as [they] counter steered making it instantly regain grip and shoot off in the opposite direction.

“You need to use throttle in a situation like that and balance it out.”

Scott Pattyson, 19, who captured the footage, described how he and his friends stepped in to help following the crash.

He told Auto Car News: “We filmed that car as usual but then the back end spun out.

“The car went into the barriers and then drove off down the road to later be recovered.

“There was oil leaking from the car, so me and the other guys thought we’d help out by putting some cones in the road – blocking one of the lanes.

“We got a van down with some cleaning stuff in, cleared up a bit of the mess and tried to get rid of the oil.

“We phoned the police on 101, letting them know to send some people down to observe the scene.”

Car enthusiast Scott explained that he had his camera out to film fancy-looking motors in the notoriously expensive area near Manchester United.

He said: “Me and the other guys often go to that place near Manchester, to do some car spotting.

“Because it’s a rich area, we usually see a lot.”

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney all lived in the area whilst playing for the club.

And, more recently the village has been home to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, and Raheem Sterling.
