Watch Qualcomm unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite

Today is day one of Snapdragon Summit, which is live from Maui. And in the day one keynote, we are expecting Qualcomm to announce its next-generation flagship chipset. This year, it’s being rumored that the chipset will get a new name – Snapdragon 8 Elite. Versus the expected name of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. We’ve seen quite a few leaks recently about it being named the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

While this might sound pretty boring compared to other flagship smartphone launches, this is still a big deal. You see, just about every feature that is going to be on next year’s phones is made possible by the chipset. That includes bigger and better camera sensors, better AI and more AI features, and so much more. Qualcomm made some big pushes into AI last year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and even further with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. So, we’re expecting some big changes here for the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The keynote kicks off at 3PM ET/12PM PT

With Qualcomm making the announcement from Hawaii, the timing is a bit different, with Hawaii being three hours behind the west coast. So you can expect the keynote to kick off at 3 PM ET for those on the East Coast and 12 PM PT for those on the West Coast. We’re expecting this to last about an hour or so, and we might even get a few teases of the first phones with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite.

But you can watch the live stream live here, from Qualcomm’s YouTube channel. And see everything that the company has in store for its latest and greatest chipset. We’ll also find out if Snapdragon can finally beat out Apple’s own silicon like the A18 Pro. After the event, we will be going hands-on with various demos that Qualcomm has in store for us, so make sure you keep it locked to Android Headlines for all the details on the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
