We could see the new Pebble smartwatch as soon as tomorrow!

The Pebble brand of smartwatches truly stood apart from the rest of the market. These devices brought a minimalist approach to a market that was already starting to feel bloated. After being shut down several years ago, Pebble smartwatches may finally come back to life on March 18th.

As the story goes, Google shut down the Pebble smartwatch company back in 2016, adding another headstone to the Google Graveyard. However, it released the source code to PebbleOS back in January. Not long after that, Eric Migicovsky, the founder of the Pebble brand, announced that he was working on bringing a new Pebble smartwatch, thus reviving the brand. So, people who loved the smartwatch brand and missed it will be able to buy new models again.

We could get a new Pebble smartwatch on March 18th

If you’re waiting for Pebble to exit the pearly gates, you won’t have to wait for too much longer. A while ago, people were able to sign up for what’s called the “RePebble” project to receive announcements on the new Pebble smartwatches. Well, those who signed up for the project just got an email with the text, “Time to get excited!”

The email then continues to read, “Set your alarm for March 18 (tomorrow!) at 9am PDT – 12 noon EDT – 4pm GMT – 9:30pm IST – Midnight CST – 1am JST“. Along with that, there’s a live store page. The page has a picture of a pebble watch with a countdown. The countdown currently reads just north of 21 hours.

Other than that, there’s nothing to glean from the site. The watch in the picture has a pretty dated design, but we don’t know if it reflects the watch’s design that the company will launch. In any case, if it is, then it will definitely appeal to the more nostalgic people among us.

However, we also can’t count out the company bringing PebbleOS to a more modern design. Imagine a watch with a design similar to the OnePlus Watch 3 with the Pebble interface. That’ll be a site. In any case, set your alarms for whatever the company announces.
