When looking at these networks’ performance during the same period a year ago:
- During primetime, Fox News was up by +42% in total viewers and +61% in the A25-54 demo. During total day, the network also saw gains of +42% in total viewers and +46% in the demo.
- MSNBC was down by -26% in total viewers and -24% in the demo. During total day, the network was down -35% in total viewers and -34% in the demo.
- CNN, in primetime, dropped by -28% in total viewers and -18% in the demo. During total day, it was down by -32% in total viewers and -28% in the demo.
PROGRAMMING:
Fox News took 14 out of the 15 spots of the most-watched cable news shows of the week, with The Five continuing to lead the way with 4.727 million viewers at 5 p.m. ET. MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show at 9 p.m. ET was the only non-Fox News program on the list, landing in the 13th spot with 1.925 million viewers.
The Five was also on top in the Adults 25-54 demo, averaging 514,000 demo viewers at 5 p.m. ET. Once again, Fox News occupied 14 out of the 15 top spots in the demo, with MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show landing in the final spot with 179,000 A25-54 viewers at 9 p.m. ET.
