Being able to predict what cars will be classed as classics in years to come is a pretty handy skill to have. It’s a bit like being able to see what horse might win a race, but could leave you with a cool car to drive around as well as a big payout in years to come.
We’re no stranger to hearing about those enormous payouts when a rare car sells at auction and countless records have been broken for car sales in recent months. Heck, Bring a Trailer even reported that it sold more than a billion dollars worth of cars last year. But if you had to buy a car today that would be a certified classic in years to come, what would you opt for?

Maybe you know a guy that’s still got a few Jeep Wrangler 392s sitting on the lot. The final V8-powered Wrangler might be a model that gains value over the years and could be worth saving. Or instead you might think a limited-edition car like the new Miata 35th Anniversary model is something that will one day be considered a classic.
Personally, I reckon something in high demand like the latest GR Corolla would be a good car to bet on. The 2025 model packs awesome looks and even better performance into a pokey little package that’s unassuming but also the envy of anyone that passes by. If you can pick one of these up now, I get the feeling it’ll be a rare beast in years to come and the apple of many future car fans’ eyes.
