While visiting HP’s Omen gaming exhibit at the company’s Amplify Conference in Nashville Tennessee this week, I realized something: I’ve been optimizing my PC’s performance for Counter-Strike 2 all wrong! What I’m doing is painstakingly combing through my hardware settings, OS settings, and game settings in a confusing and sometimes panic-ridden mind muddle in the hope I’ll achieve an actual uplift in FPS. Am I actually achieving one? Hardly!
That’s where HP’s Omen AI comes in. Originally unveiled at CES 2025 Las Vegas last January, Omen AI made another appearance at the conference in Nashville, this time showing off some impressive FPS gains on both laptops and desktop PCs. In one of the promotional videos, Omen AI boosted a laptop’s performance from 82 FPS to 111 FPS. HP wasn’t able to provide the specs of that particular PC, but nevertheless a 35 percent boost in FPS remains an impressive result.
If you’re not sure how Omen AI works, it’s accessible through the Omen Gaming Hub. To activate the optimization, click a single toggle switch. This prompts the AI to learn and adjust to your hardware, current game settings, and OS settings, maximizing your FPS.
The AI uses millions of data points from thousands of PC configurations across the web to create the best settings for every individual gamer. Before you flick that switch, though, you get to view a tab showing your current FPS versus what you should be able to get when you toggle Omen AI on, a handy predictive feature.

HP’s Omen AI automatically optimizes your laptop’s hardware, OS and game settings for a noticeable boost to fps.

Currently, Omen AI can only optimize FPS for a limited number of games, one of which is Counter-Strike 2, which isn’t very taxing on a PC’s CPU and GPU. This is because Omen AI is still in active Beta. When that trial expands later this year, we can expect to see more demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077–this will give us a clearer picture of Omen AI’s ability and potential. For now, Omen AI has my utmost attention. Omen AI will be available on all HP gaming and consumer PCs.
Note: PCWorld accepted travel and accommodation to the HP Amplify Conference in the United States in order to view and try out HP products that were being released and not physically available in the author’s location.
