Samsung recently unveiled its latest generation of flagship phones, the Galaxy S25 series.
As expected, many of the new features are centred on artificial intelligence, with AI making its way to even more areas of the new phones.
Now, the first Galaxy S25 are in the hands of testers, including Tech Advisor. Our full Galaxy S25 Ultra review is live now, with reviews of the other models to come.
Elsewhere, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, known for his Apple leaks, has praised the Google Gemin integration in particular, which Samsung uses as artificial intelligence for its smartphones.
According to Gurman, Google’s and Samsung’s artificial intelligence feels almost futuristic compared to Apple Intelligence. He specifically highlighted its ability to understand multiple commands one after the other, which it can quickly process and give a relevant response.
Unlike Apple, Samsung has relied on a third-party company instead of developing its own tool, though the new version of Siri is integrated with ChatGPT.
Gurman is not the only one who sees Apple falling behind
Gurman’s criticism joins the ranks of other voices criticising Apple Intelligence as being too limited or too late for the market.
For users in the EU, Samsung still has the huge advantage that the smart assistant on the Galaxy S25 also works in German, English, French, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Swedish, Spanish and Turkish.
Apple Intelligence has been announced for languages other than English, but this isn’t expected before April or May 2025.
It can certainly be argued that Apple’s assistant on the iPhone has its own set of advantages compared to Google Gemini. But being limited to English and without support for complex commands means Google (and by extension, Samsung) has the clear edge right now.
