It’s the season of OEMs showing off their respective takes on Android 15, and October has been a pretty busy month in that regard. OnePlus, that Chinese manufacturer that came up through the ranks for its “flagship killer” smartphones, has come forth with OxygenOS 15.
They showed off several of the features that this new OS will come packing to make it feel exciting and fresh. However, they also showed off which smartphones of theirs can expect to get OnePlus OS 15, so let’s talk about that first and see if your device will be one of the lucky bunch.
Here Are The Devices That Are Confirmed To Be Getting OxygenOS 15
Have you been craving the flavor of OxygenOS 15 on your smartphone, even before you found out exactly what it was going to be like? I understand. I’ve been hungry for One UI 7 in the exact same manner.
Fortunately for all the OnePlus lovers out there, your manufacturer has been kind enough to release a rollout timeline for its new operating system. However, keep in mind that this timeline only applies to the open beta for OxygenOS 15 and not the stable version. According to the OEM, the timeline for that depends on the response from the beta version and whether it is adequately bug-free. It also doesn’t apply to carrier models.
Anyway, enough with the yapping. Here are the OnePlus devices that will get OxygenOS 15 and the timeline for them:
- From October 30th: OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R
- From November: OnePlus Open, OnePlus Pad 2
- From December: OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R, OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite, OnePlus Pad
- From January: OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10T, OnePlus Nord 3
- From February: OnePlus 10R, OnePlus Nord CE 3
OxygenOS 15 Promises Fluidity And Plenty Of AI Magic
OnePlus promises that OxygenOS 15 is going to get a lot smoother and more fluid than its predecessor. Well, no one hates a responsive OS, so I’m looking forward to seeing the real-world accounts of the smoothness. It’s going to accompany that speed with some changes to the UI, such as revised icons and new cards for your Shelf.
AI is built right into the flesh of the operating system, bringing a lot of new features, particularly for the mobile photography crowd. That includes tools that utilize AI to unblur images, remove reflections, add more details, and remove unwanted objects. Besides photos, you also get AI that can improve your productivity, such as using AI to write notes, polish your text, summarize articles, and generate suggested replies.
