EXCLUSIVE: William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Prison Break) and Eric Lange (Escape at Dannemora, Narcos) are set for key recurring roles, rounding out the cast of Apple TV+‘s limited series Lucky, starring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy. Production is currently underway in Los Angeles.
Created by Jonathan Tropper based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, Lucky stars Taylor-Joy as the eponymous heroine. She is a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.
In addition to Taylor-Joy, cast is led by Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Timothy Olyphant, Drew Starkey, Clifton Colins Jr. and Mo McRae.
Lucky is produced by Hello Sunshine and Tropper Ink, and is created by Tropper under his overall deal with Apple TV+. He serves as co-showrunner alongside Cassie Pappas (Silo, Griselda). Witherspoon EPs alongside Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media. Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner Ladykiller. Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct several episodes, including the pilot, and serve as executive producer.
Fichtner’s upcoming projects include Season 2 of Netflix’s Beef and Anne Rice’s The Talamasca. He has been seen in films including Armageddon, Crash, Black Hawk Down, and The Dark Knight and on TV in Prison Break, Mom, and ABC’s The Company You Keep, among others. Fichtner is repped by Principal Entertainment LA, Thruline, Innovative Artists, and Sloane, Offer, Weber, and Dern LLP.
Lange received a Critics Choice Award nomination for his role in Showtime’s Escape At Dannemora opposite Patricia Arquette. He’s currently a series regular in Prime Video’s upcoming comic-thriller series El Gato opposite Diego Boneta. He’ll next be seen in MCU’s Thunderbolts premiering May 2, and also will recur in Apple TV+’s sci-fi thriller series Invasion in its upcoming third season. He’s repped by Trademark Talent and Innovative Artists.
