Windows just got its own Magic Trackpad… kind of

One of the accessories that a lot of Apple Mac users seem to own is the Magic Trackpad. It almost feels like it’s exclusive to Apple, but if you love the concept of the Magic Trackpad but you’re a Windows user, you’re in luck. At CES 2025, the folks at Hyper have announced the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro.

Trackpad for Windows

The HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is basically a large external trackpad for Windows. If you’ve ever used a laptop before, you are probably familiar with the concept of the trackpad. Some users might actually prefer using a trackpad over a regular mouse. This is because trackpads support gestures, like pinching to zoom in and out.

It also makes it smoother when it comes to scrolling through websites. Other users like video editors might also find it handy. This is because video editing involves a lot of side-scrolling, so having a trackpad that lets users scroll side-to-side using their fingers will be more efficient than a mouse. Some users use a trackpad alongside a mouse.

Hyper claims that its trackpad has independent force detection for as many as 10 fingers. It also boasts a 240Hz report rate that should make it feel very responsive.

Customization options

Hyper has included its own software along with the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro. This software allows users to customize some of the trackpad’s functions. For instance, users can customize the trackpad’s bottom-right corner. Users can also create and assign their own gestures.

There are some mice out there that come with additional macro buttons, so this is kind of similar. The main difference is that you don’t have to click anything, which depending on your workflow could actually end up being faster and more efficient. The trackpad features haptic feedback and pressure sensitivity. These features can also be adjusted in the software.

The company has also created its own “Hyper Learning Cloud” community. This is where users can share their custom configurations with others. It might be useful if you’re a video editor and you’re looking for more efficient gestures or shortcuts that someone else has figured out already.

Last but not least, it comes with detachable magnetic palm rests for those who want a more ergonomic and comfortable setup.

Pricing & availability

If you think that the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is a great accessory for your PC, you can pick one up in Q2 2025. It is priced at $129.99, which interestingly enough is the same price as Apple’s Magic Trackpad.
