JAGUAR are set to put their most famous and widely loved motor of all-time back in production.
The British firm will build two new E-Type models using the car’s original blueprints – 50 years after its retirement.

The brand’s famed in-house historic vehicles division, Jaguar Classic, will take on the project for a customer based in Southeast Asia.
Produced from 1961 until 1974 before it was replaced by the XJ-S, the E-Type is considered one of the greatest sports cars ever made and is a huge favourite among petrolheads.
It’s particularly favoured for its stunning aesthetics, with Enzo Ferrari – the legendary founder of Ferrari – once describing it as “the most beautiful car ever made”.
The two new E-Types will be built to the original Series I specification, but will be inspired by the run-out Series III Commemorative Edition.
Both will be drophead coupes, with one finished in Signet Green and the other in Opal Black, and will be powered by the same 3.8-litre straight-six engine that could be found in the E-Type from 1961 to 1964.
However, these new models will come equipped with a handful of subtle differences and modern conveniences.
This includes electronic fuel injection in replacement of the original’s triple SU carbs, as well as a five-speed manual gearbox instead of the classic four-speed.
A Bluetooth radio and heated windscreen have also been discreetly added to the car to enhance its usability.
To make them even more exclusive, the Commemorative E-Types will be fitted with hand-woven Bridge of Weir tan leather seats, with an aluminium centre console engraved with an original E-Type design blueprint.
What’s more, England’s oldest manufacturing jewellery firm Deakin & Francis will create the iconic ‘growler’ badges using 18-carat gold and mother-of-pearl.
It has not been confirmed how much the two E-Types will cost the new owner, with each taking more than 2,000 hours to build by hand.
Sadly, the specially commissioned two cars will be the only ones built.
This comes as Jaguar recently announced it won’t sell any new cars in the UK for an entire year after it unveils a new EV sports car.
The company has scrapped its entire product range in order to meet its target of going electric-only from 2025.

JAGUAR are just months away from ending the production of two more of their models – as the famous British brand prepares for its new all-electric era.
