Xbox Cloud Gaming will get three Call of Duty games this month

Xbox will have three Call of Duty games available on its Cloud Gaming service later this month, and this includes the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. That should come as no surprise, given that the game launches in just under two weeks, and it was already confirmed to be available on Xbox Game Pass.

While the Game Pass announcement didn’t mention cloud play at the time, it seemed unlikely that Microsoft wouldn’t make the game available in the cloud. In addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also be able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Call of Duty: Warzone.

These three titles make the most sense, as Black Ops 6 is going to be the newest game in the franchise, while Modern Warfare III will be the most recent prior to Black Ops 6, and Warzone is Activision’s ongoing free-to-play battle royale option.

All three Call of Duty games will be live on Xbox Cloud Gaming on Oct. 25

If you’re wondering when you’ll be able to play any of these three new games in the cloud, they’ll be live on October 25. This is the day Black Ops 6 launches, and the other two games will be made available on the same day. This probably doesn’t come as a shock, but it’s nice to have confirmation.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is required to access the cloud gaming feature, but this has always been the case. So there was no change here. If you don’t have the Ultimate membership and you want the ability to play Call of Duty in the cloud, you may want to think about upgrading. Although, there is another option.

You can access the games through GeForce NOW

If you missed the announcement from a few months back, NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service has access to Call of Duty games. It’s part of Microsoft’s agreement with NVIDIA to bring Xbox and Activision Blizzard games to GeForce NOW. This includes Modern Warfare III and Warzone, which are already on the service and you can play them right now. It will also include Black Ops 6 once it launches on October 25.

You also won’t have to own the games on Steam anymore, as NVIDIA just added account sync options for Battle.net so you any of these three Call of Duty games through Blizzard’s launcher and still use NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service.
