The Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera details and launch timeframe have just surfaced, as part of two separate rumors. Let’s talk more about the phone’s camera first, and then we’ll jump to the launch timeframe.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera details and launch timeframe info appear

The camera information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known Chinese tipsters. He said that the phone will be able to take macro photos with a focusing distance of around 10cm.

Previously he mentioned that the phone will include a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor). A 50-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom) was also mentioned, as was a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (4.3x optical zoom). We’re still not sure about the main camera, but Sony’s LYT-900 1-inch type 50-megapixel sensor could be used.

Now, in regards to the phone’s launch. A rumor from China claims that the phone will become official at the very end of February, in China. Days before MWC. The global model is tipped to arrive soon after, during MWC 2024.

All Xiaomi 15 flagships for global markets will arrive at MWC 2025

That actually indicates that we’ll see a similar situation like last year. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra launched for global markets at the same time, during MWC 2024. The same could happen with their successors. We’re not sure about the Xiaomi 15 Pro, though. Its predecessor stayed exclusive to China.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, just like its siblings. The phone will include a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate. That panel is expected to be flat, with a curved glass on top.

90W wired charging is expected, and the same goes for 80W wireless charging. Android 15 will come pre-installed on the phone, with Xiaomi’s HyperOS skin on top.
