The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is generating considerable buzz as the successor to Xiaomi’s first flip-style foldable phone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip.
Here’s everything we know so far about its release date, pricing, and specifications.
When will the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 be released?
As per Gizmo China’s report, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is rumoured to launch in the first half of 2025, possibly before the end of June.
This earlier-than-expected release is reportedly due to the strong sales and positive reception of the original Mix Flip, which debuted in July 2024.
As with all Xiaomi products, don’t expect the Mix Flip 2 to be available in the US.
How much will the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 cost?
There is currently no official or leaked information about the pricing of the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2. However, given its improved features and flagship specifications, it’s expected to be priced to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7.
For reference, the original Mix Flip launched at £1,099, slightly above the £1,049/$1,099.99 price of its Samsung counterpart in the UK, so a similar strategy might be employed for the Mix Flip 2.
What specs and features will the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 have?
While Xiaomi has not confirmed the details, several leaks and rumours provide insight into what we might expect from the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2.
Design
According to a new rumour on X, the Mix Flip 2 is said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, which measured 7.6mm thick when unfolded and 16mm when folded, with a weight of 190-192g, depending on the version.

Despite the sleeker design, the device will reportedly feature an IPX8 water resistance rating, a significant improvement over the original Mix Flip, which lacked any official IP certification.
Display
The main display on the Mix Flip 2 is rumoured to be a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution described as “1.5K” (via GSMArena.)
This should provide sharp visuals and adaptive refresh rates for a smooth user experience.

The cover display might remain large, maintaining its practicality for quick tasks and notifications.
Performance
Powering the Mix Flip 2 will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the original Mix Flip.

This processor will likely make it one of the most powerful foldable phones on the market, directly competing with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is also expected to feature the same chipset.
Cameras
The Mix Flip 2 will reportedly have two rear cameras (via GSMArena).
It’s rumoured to include a 50Mp main sensor (1/1.5″ type) and a 50Mp ultrawide sensor (1/2.76″ type), replacing the telephoto lens from the first-generation model.

While this configuration is an interesting choice, some may miss the flexibility of a telephoto option.
Battery & Charging
The Mix Flip 2 was expected (via GSMArena) to feature a significantly larger battery than its predecessor, with leaks suggesting a capacity between 5,600 and 5,700mAh. But the latest rumour from China suggests a 5,100 mAh battery (again, via GSMArena).
Although not as impressive as first believed, it would still be an upgrade from the original Mix Flip’s 4,780 mAh battery, ensuring better longevity.

The device will also support wireless charging, a feature absent from the first model.
Software
The Mix Flip 2 will likely run on Xiaomi’s MIUI interface based on Android 15, but it depends on its release timeline. The software is expected to optimise the foldable display for multitasking and provide a seamless user experience.
